Every ingredient on the panel

Ten actives inside one 600 mg proprietary blend. Rather than describing all ten in the same glowing adjectives, we grade each against the research that actually exists — including the three we think you should discount entirely.

MemoHoney lists ten active ingredients inside a 600 mg proprietary blend: Bacopa Monnieri, Alpha-GPC (choline), Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Lion's Mane, Bilberry, Green Tea Extract, Vitamin B6, Coleus Forskohlii, Cinnamon Bark and Himalayan Pink Salt. Individual milligram amounts are not disclosed. Serving size is one capsule, with 30 capsules per bottle. The capsule shell is a plant-derived cellulose material rather than gelatin.

The strongest three

Bacopa Monnieri carries the best cognitive evidence in the formula by a clear margin. A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial reported cognitive, mood and anxiety benefits in older adults, and a separate meta-analysis of randomised trials supports cognitive effects for standardised extracts. Two details matter: trials use extracts standardised to a defined bacoside percentage, and effects emerge across eight to twelve weeks. Neither the standardisation nor the amount is printed here. You can read a fuller treatment on Examine.

Alpha-GPC is a bioavailable choline source that crosses the blood–brain barrier and supports acetylcholine synthesis. Choline is an essential nutrient that most adults under-consume, which gives this ingredient a nutritional rationale on top of its pharmacological one. Research doses commonly run 300–600 mg.

Vitamin B6 is the least contested item on the panel. Its role in neurotransmitter synthesis and homocysteine metabolism is established biochemistry rather than a supplement hypothesis, and the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements documents it thoroughly. Deficiency impairs cognition; correcting deficiency restores function. It does not push healthy function above baseline.

The supporting four

Real ingredients, adjacent evidence

Acetyl-L-Carnitine. The acetylated form crosses into the brain more readily than plain carnitine and participates in mitochondrial fatty-acid transport. Studied for cognitive outcomes in older adults, generally at gram-scale doses.

Lion's Mane. Interest centres on nerve growth factor. Genuinely interesting preclinical work; the human trial base is thinner than the category's marketing suggests, and hericenone and erinacine standardisation varies widely between products.

Bilberry. Anthocyanin-dense, and the closest thing in the formula to the blueberry polyphenol research that reported improved vascular and cognitive performance in healthy older adults.

Green Tea Extract. EGCG and other catechins, with a large general research base. Worth asking about caffeine content, and worth knowing that concentrated green tea extracts carry their own cautions at high doses — the NCCIH overview is a good starting point.

The honest deductions

Three we would discount, and why

Coleus Forskohlii

Forskolin raises cyclic AMP in cell models, which sounds relevant but is not what the human research measured — that sits in body-composition and cardiovascular work. It also carries this formula's clearest interaction concern for anyone on blood pressure medication or blood thinners.

Cinnamon Bark

Published cinnamon research concerns glucose metabolism. There is no meaningful cognitive literature on it. Reasonable in a formula touching on steady mental energy; not an ingredient to weigh in a memory-support decision.

Himalayan Pink Salt

Trace minerals and electrolytes. Nutritionally it behaves much like ordinary table salt, and the trace mineral content is far too small to matter at capsule scale. No cognitive evidence supports it as an active.

Why the undisclosed split matters. Bacopa trials commonly use around 300 mg of standardised extract on its own. Alpha-GPC research often uses 300–600 mg. Acetyl-L-Carnitine studies frequently use grams. This entire blend is 600 mg shared between ten ingredients. Even in the most generous reading, several actives must be present well below the doses that generated the research they are associated with. That is not proof the formula is ineffective — it is proof you cannot verify it, which is a different and more frustrating problem. Ask the manufacturer for the split in writing before ordering if this matters to you.

Interactions worth clearing first

IngredientInteracts withWhat to do
Coleus ForskohliiBlood pressure medication, blood thinners, nitratesForskolin can lower blood pressure and affect platelet function. Clear with a prescriber.
Green Tea ExtractBlood thinners, stimulants, some statins and beta-blockersConcentrated catechins interact with several classes. Ask a pharmacist.
Bacopa MonnieriAntidepressants, cholinergic medicationA possible interaction is noted in the literature; Bacopa also has mild cholinergic activity.
Alpha-GPCAnticholinergics, cholinergic drugs, scopolamineAdds to cholinergic load. Relevant if you take medication acting on that system.
Vitamin B6High-dose long-term supplementationNutritional doses are uncontroversial. Very high chronic doses can cause neuropathy.
Himalayan Pink SaltSodium-restricted dietsCapsule-scale amounts are negligible for sodium intake.

This lists interaction considerations documented for these ingredient categories. It is not a complete list and it is not medical advice. The finished product's full adverse-effect profile has not been independently established. If you take any prescription medication, photograph the label and show it to a pharmacist before ordering.

Common questions

Frequently asked

What are the ingredients in MemoHoney?

Ten actives inside a 600 mg proprietary blend: Bacopa Monnieri, Alpha-GPC (choline), Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Lion's Mane, Bilberry, Green Tea Extract, Vitamin B6, Coleus Forskohlii, Cinnamon Bark and Himalayan Pink Salt. Individual milligram amounts are not printed. The capsule shell is plant-derived cellulose rather than gelatin.

Which ingredient has the strongest research?

Bacopa Monnieri, without close competition — randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial evidence plus a supporting meta-analysis for cognition specifically. Alpha-GPC and Vitamin B6 come next on mechanistic and nutritional grounds. Everything else has research behind it, but mostly from adjacent fields.

Does MemoHoney use a proprietary blend?

Yes — all ten actives are grouped under a single 600 mg total rather than listed with individual amounts. Ingredients in a blend must appear in descending order by weight, so you get a ranking. What you cannot see is the distribution: the first ingredient could account for most of the blend while the last few contribute a trace.

Is it gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan?

The capsule shell is plant-derived cellulose rather than gelatin. Gluten, dairy and vegan status are not stated in the materials we reviewed. If you have coeliac disease, a dairy allergy or a strict dietary requirement, email support for written confirmation before ordering rather than assuming.
